David Moilliet

My Dad took me as a child to Vics and Witton matches occasionally. He deliberately didn't encourage me to support either team in particular. I chose to support Vics because of the better football, the club using the town's name and generally feeling more at home at the Drill Field.

My earliest clear Vics memory was watching us play Witton at Wincham Park in about 1991 or 1992. The game wasn't segregated at the start but towards the end of the game most of the Vics fans were locked into one end of the ground until about 15 minutes after the end. Having to walk back to Northwich Station was a shock to the system as the bus had gone. My most vivid Drill Field memory was a school friend's 18th birthday party in the bar including karaoke; I sang “I should be so lucky” very badly!

After finishing my degree at Nottingham University and getting a permanent job I have been able to come to matches more often. I enjoy helping the Trust and the Football Club when I can.

The Sunderland game and the Stafford game (when we won the Conference North title) and are my best Vics memories. Watching us lose to Shrewsbury on New Year's Day 2004 from Wincham Park's away terrace is my worst Vics memory.
