VICS head into a tough clash against play-off chasing Marine with the knowledge they will

play at the Victoria Stadium for at least one more game.

An agreement has been made with ground landlords Deloitte and prospective new owners

Thor, talks are on-going over terms which will allows Vics to play at a ground, which has

been home to them since 2005, for the rest of the season.

On the pitch, Vics go into this game on the back of a run of three wins and three draws in the

last six league games.

Following wins against Stocksbridge, FC United and Ashton United, the Vics have drawn

with Chester and in the past two league games been held to Buxton and Frickley Athletic.

The Vics have taken twelve points from their last six league games, with three matches won –

they sit second in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier, two points behind top of the table Chester.

Marine have had a decent run of form in their last six matches – they have secured wins

against Burscough, Whitby Town and most notably Hednesford Town, but have lost to

Stafford Rangers and Chorley and drawn with Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The Mariners have taken ten points from their last six league games, with three matches won

– they sit fifth in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier, just five points behind third placed Vics but

having played two games more.

In a competitive league this season, Vics average more than two points per game (2.08 PPG)

while the Mariners have averaged 1.75 PPG.

Vics have been mean at the back this season and boast the second best defence in the division

– with only 22 goals conceded, Marine have conceded on 32 occasions which is the sixth best

in the league.

At the other end, Vics fare slightly better, which will be of comfort to temporary boss Steve

Abbott. The Vics are sixth for goals scored with 49, while Marine are ninth for goals scored

having found the net 45 times.

Marine have a suspension pending for this match, Thomas Moore completes the last of a

three match ban for his dismissal in the New Year clash against Chorley. Vics have a full

squad to choose from, but Arron Morrison has left the club to join Airbus UK.

A stand out statistic is the away form for both sides – Marine currently have the best record

with 30 points from 14 games, while Vics have 29 points from 12 games but have played two

games less.
