NAME: Scott Tynan
POSITION: Goalkeeper
DATE OF BIRTH: 27th November 1983 PLACE: Liverpool
MARITAL STATUS: In a long term relationship with his girlfriend.
PREVIOUS CLUBS: He represented Liverpool County FA at schoolboy level and played games for Everton, Liverpool, Bolton and Crewe at that level before spurning the opportunity to sign YTS forms for Liverpool to sign his first professional contract for Wigan Athletic. He left Wigan to join Nottingham Forest from where he spent a loan period at Telford United. He then joined Barnet and was an integral part of their 2005 promotion winning side before moving to Rushden Diamonds in 2006. While there he went out on loan to Hereford. He left the Northamptonshire club to join Ebbsfleet in 2007 before returning to the North West in October of that year to sign for Vics. Such has been his impact at Vics that he has since been rewarded with a place in the England C International team.
HIS PERSONAL BEST MOMENTS OF HIS CAREER: Winning the Conference with Barnet in 2005. Playing for Barnet at Manchester United in a cup game in front of nearly 50,000 supporters. Representing his country at International Level. Last season's win at Stevenage that meant Vics retained their Blue Square Premier status.
HIS PERSONAL WORST MOMENT: Getting relegated with Rushden which he described as "sickening".
THE MOST IMPORTANT SAVE HE HAS MADE: Blocking a point blank far post header from Exeter's Dean Moxey that led to Barnet holding on for a win that proved pivotal in them winning the league and gaining promotion to league football. Although Scott points out he always takes pride in saving penalties at whatever level of his career.
THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON HIS CAREER: Although he has been grateful to several of the coaches and senior players he has benefited from throughout his career his main influence has been his father. Scott believes he owes everything to the man who has supported him from his youth. He has pushed him when he needed it and supported all his needs and has always been there for him both morally and physically with dad travelling the length and breadth of the land to keep a watchful eye on his son's progress.
WHO DOES HE RATE AS HIS MOST DIFFICULT OPPONENT: Although he played against Wayne Rooney in his youth and Thierre Henry in a friendly match he explains that Matt Derbyshire of Blackburn Rovers has always had a knack of scoring against him and so he was particularly pleased to thwart him twice in Vics pre-season friendly against Rovers. Liam Hatch, currently of Peterborough United, he describes as a "real handful" whose physical strength and total commitment leads to a fair but potentially bruising contest.
THE PLAYERS WHO HE MOST ADMIRES: Bruce Grobelaar for both his skill and his entertaining eccentricity and Robbie Fowler. Scott was pleased to point out that he kept a clean sheet against his hero in the recent friendly against Blackburn.
THE LOUDEST MANAGER(S) HE HAS PLAYED UNDER: Wigan Youth Team Coach Brendan O'Connell knew how to raise the roof and Nottingham Forest
manager Paul Hart was not averse to raising the decibels. Graham Westley is hardly a "shrinking violet" and current boss Dino Maamria is "not too far behind".
WHICH TEAM DOES HE SUPPORT: Scott is a lifelong Liverpool fan
WHO ARE HIS BEST FRIENDS IN FOOTBALL: Steven Schumaker (now at Crewe Alex), Dan Crane (Solihull Moors), Marcus Kelly (Rushden) and Gregor Robertson (Rotherham) with whom he roomed when at Notts Forest.
WHAT OTHER SPORTS DOES HE PLAY: Golf (not especially well) and pool.
HOBBIES: Spending quality time with his girlfriend and family. Going out with the lads.
MUSIC: Hip Hop, R&B, Funky House and Garage. The last CD he bought was one of Head Candy
WHAT WOULD HE HAVE BEEN HAD HE NOT BEEN A FOOTBALLER: Probably something to do with sport around coaching. Or, given how much he
likes socialising, an Events Organiser.
