Burton 1 (Webster 83)
Vics 1 (Stamp 29)
An admirable stoic performance earned Vics’ their first point of the season and that was the least that their efforts merited.
Having dominated the early exchanges only a superb goal line save by Poole kept out a Stamp header and then Steele broke free to shoot disappointingly high over the bar. STAMP again went close before he finally scored with a well placed header from a Williams cross. A long overdue concerted effort from Albion ended the half and a nimble run into the box by Banim exhibited a solitary home threat.
Vics contained Burton for much of the second half without creating too many further threats of their own.. And a win seemed on the cards until WEBSTER latched onto a Corbett cross to level the scores.
Vics were best served yet again by Roberts and Welch at the back and their efforts alone deserved to have won maximum points.
