Clitheroe 1 (Lomax)
Vics 3 (Byrom, Allan, Williams)

It may have been bleak and wet but it was a pleasure to benefit from Lancashire hospitality and get back to watching the Vics again.
Joel BYROM fittingly set the scene with a delightfully executed free kick that opened the scoring against his former club. Most of the early opportunities continued to fall Vics way and Aaron Burns might have secured an early brace of goals had his finishing been more accomplished from in front of goal. Similarly Mullan wasted a further opportunity from a similar position following good work from Barratt. Byrom then drew a good save from the keeper that was duplicated by a similar save to deny Mullan. As it was Vics had to be content with a single goal lead at the interval.
Dino Maamria rang the changes at half time and introduced 10 different options to the line up for the second period. Unsurprisingly Vics looked less cohesive and following a spell of home pressure Carl LOMAX brought the scores level with a clinical finish from 12 yards. Lomax continued to cause problems and twice went close before ALLAN rose above his marker to loop a header over the home keeper and into the net. Moments later and Danny WILLIAMS cut in fom the right to tuck a shot inside the far post and effectively secure the win. Tynan remained equal to whatever the home side produced within a limited flourish but overall Vics could feel pleased with their first workout.
Of the new players Chris Sutton immediateley took the eye while Jamie Mullan looked sharp during his 45 minute spell.
