Forest Green 4(Fleetwood 6,72, Beesley 47,Smith 74)
Vics 1 (Giles 58 og)
Vics crashed to an almost predictable defeat at Forest Green in what may yet prove to be their final away Conference League game.
Lacking optimism, hope and all too often passion the result was a virtual long gone conclusion once FLEETWOOD had pounced on a Wilson error to round Connett to open the scoring after just six minutes. Vics were once again second best and only the bar prevented Jones from increasing the home sides lead before Mark BEESLEY added the second early into the second half when he latched onto a Dodgson pass to lash a shot into the roof of the net.
Vics did gain a ray of hope when GILES sliced a Townson shot into his own net. But that only flattered to deceive and FLEETWOOD quickly undelined the home team's supremacy by shrugging off a Wilson challenge to beat Connett, albeit at the second attempt. Fleetwood then turned provider to allow SMITH to score and complete the rout.
