Northwich will have been disappointed not to have taken full points from an encounter during which they enjoyed the vast majority of possession. As early as the 2nd minute, Horrocks crossed into the box and Atkin connected but turned his shot inches wide of a gaping goal.Williams crossed from the right and Atkin again shot narrowly wide when well placed.Vics dominated all the early play and Josh Wilson combined with Williams to produce yet another good save from the home goalkeeper.
It was 25 minutes before the home side had a meaningful raid on goal and then Grayson shot over from close range. The home side began to get a foot back into the game,Grayson again showed himself to be a major threat and Tynan had to save a second attempt.
After 40 minutes, Horrocks ,who had done well in the early stages, limped off to be replaced by Morning. On the stroke of half time, Carr hit a ferocious volley that produced a tremendous save from the home keeper.
Vics continued to remain on top and Morning could have opened the scoring but was again denied by another quality save from Loach.Vics continued to show their inadequacy around set pieces and having squandered yet another chance, Stafford broke and Mawene hit the post from a break from what ought to have been a Vics goal scoring opportunity .During the last 20 minutes ,the game ebbed and flowed and Tynan was forced to turn a 25 yard shot from Grayson around the post.Play again switched to the other end and Loach was forced to spread himself to deny Morning from producing the winning goal.Substitute Farquharson shot into the side netting after Rusk and Steele cleverly worked an inviting scoring opportunity.
Sadly, in the end Vics were only able to obtain one point from a game that they may well have been able to achieve much more.
