Peter Wilson reports: Vics were made to work hard for their win from their first ever visit to the well appointed Marston's Stadium. But their extra class, especially in the form of Carlos Roca, eventually told. An evenly contested first half began with Elliott lifting a shot wide before Allan held up a Chapman pass to set up Brayson for a shot into the side netting. McGregor got the better of Payne to free Brown but his shot was well saved by Rogers. Otherwise neither side were able to get on top until a superb flowing four man move brought Vics their first goal. Brayson and Allan paired up to release Roca down the right and from his cross CARR rose above the home defence to power a header which Price was unable to prevent from reaching the net. Elliott had a shot deflected wide for a corner after Roca and then Mayman had stretched the the opposing full backs down both flanks. Just as dramatically Vics then went off the boil and after a short spell of Hinckley pressure Mayman was forced to head clear a shot from Lenton from off his goal line. Momemts later and LEWIS converted a left wing cross with a well placed header to bring the game back level. Brayson produced some good work t o cross and Allan was centimetres away from connecting in front of a gaping goal as he slid in at the far post. Vics came out looking more determined after the break and Mayman had a left foot shot from the edge of the box turned over the bar by Price. Roca broke to have the home defence back pedalling and after they conceded a corner Woolley was forced into another desperate clearance as the cracks began to appear. Hinckley did break effectively and a McGregor glancing header went narrowly wide of the far post with Rogers beaten. It has to be said that when Vics second goal did come it was something of a gift. First Lewis carelessly gave the ball away to Chapman to get down the line and cross and then the unfortunate WOOLLEY in trying to intercept only succeeded in stearing the cross beyond his keeper and into his own net. Carr set up Elliott and his fiercely struck shot was parried out by Price before Roca set up Brayson for the miss of the game. The winger again caused pandemonium in the Hinckley defence as he jinked his way into its heart before slipping the ball to the unmarked Br ayson who had time to steady himself before aiming a shot wide of a gaping goal. This miss would have had severe consequences had Rogers not pulled off a superb point blank save to deny Woolley and then the debutant defender lifted the rebound high over the bar. Payne limped off to be replaced by Handyside as Vics continued to experience another lean spell when Lenton shot into the side netting and McGregor delayed too long in front of goal allowing McCarthy to disposses him. Enter Carlos Roca again with a touch of individual class to seal the game. A superb 30 yard precision pass from McCarthy set Brayson free on goal and he carefully picked out ROCA to his right for him to cleverly side step a defender and fire an unstoppable left foot shot into the top corner. Vics cruised the remaining 13 minutes and although Rogers was called upon to turn a shot from Cartwright around the post the result was no longer in any doubt.
