Peter Wilson reports:

Despite going behind to a goal inside the opening three minutes and experiencing one or two uncomfortable moments in the opening half hour of the game, Steve Burr's men eventually settled to record a comfortable victory and march into the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.
An uncharicteristic error from Charnock, when he lost control of a harmless looking punt forward, allowed Alex CALLERY a free route to goal and he was able to score despite Rogers getting a hand to his shot. Allan laid the ball invitingly into the path of Brayson and although he rounded the keeper the angle proved too acute forcing him to return to Allan who was disposessed. Roca and Brayson combined to tee up McCarthy and although he mishit his first shot he produced a save from Ingham from the rebound. Carr won the ball and switched play intelligently to the unmarked Allan and his shot screamed inches over the bar. Frickley exerted a short spell of pressure yet, despite winning two corners in quick succession, never produced the armoury to seriously test Rogers. Eventually Vics began to wrest control and after Roca had cut inside to beat two men and then drive a left foot shot narrowly wide and Allan set up Brayson for a one to one with the keeper that ought to have produced a goal rather than a wayward finish, Vics finally drew level. BRAYSON collected the ball on the edge of the box and turned his marker before picking his spot with a precise finish into the far corner to score the kind of quality goal which has become his trademark. Moments later and he again outwitted the defender to set up Allan but he failed to capitalise.
The second half proved to be one way traffic with Vics cantering to a comfortable win. Roca curled an early shot wide and Brayson and Allan were denied by Ingham before a deft touch from Allan set his striking partner free on goal leaving BRAYSON to score with some ease. Two minutes later and the referee awarded a penalty after Brayson was held back inside the box but on consultation with his assistant reversed the decision and awarded Frickley a free kick. Carr got clear to lift a shot over the stranded Ingham but sadly also the bar and then BRAYSON again found himself one on one with the keeper and he calmly drew and rounded him to complete his second hat trick of the season. CARR took advantage of an almost identical situation to add the fourth with a calculated lob and Allan should have quickly added a fifth when he only had Ingham to beat but he failed to find the target. The management team took the opportunity to exercise Battersby, Byrne and Payne but there were still two further golden opportunities for Brayson to add to his personal tally, which for this game alone could have easily been seven, but his attempted lob when set clear by Battersby was grabbed by Ingham and when once more set clear by Payne his shot was deflected into the side netting.
