Peter Wilson reports on the FA Trophy game at Hucknall:

?Hucknall?? 0?? v??? 0?? Vics

Any concerns around areas of discipline, which had arisen from the two teams previous encounter at Watnall Road, were very effectively dispelled today by a very professional Northwich performance which ensured that Vics never looked likely to come out second best in a potentially difficult FA Trophy tie.
And had the erratic match officials observed the clearly defined rules of the game then they should have awarded a penalty kick to Vics in the second minute of the game when Brayson was clearly a victim of an ill-judged tackle from behind inside the Hucknall penalty area. Instead they chose to ignore all vehement appeals and set the precedent for a series of bizarre decisions that were as inept for Vics as they proved to be for Hucknall. Nevertheless Vics still could have taken an early lead had Allan's header not struck the underside of the bar with keeper Lindley comprehensively beaten. Rowland did go close with a close range attempt but the home team were creating little and Lindley had to be on his mettle to keep out another Allan header as Vics continued to look the more threatening.
?Steve Burr's men continued to match the impressive work rate of their hosts and Brayson got behind his marker to turn a Mayman cross over the bar.? The fact that goal mouth incident remained at a premium was a testament to two hard working teams and in an evenly contested second half neither keeper was called upon to produce anything other than their rudimentary duties. Yet, if any one were to win the game, Vics looked the marginally more likely to do so and a late strike from Brayson did produce the best save of the game from Lindley.
Otherwise Vics can feel pleased with an effective professional, hard working performance, which allows them the opportunity to finally overcome their nemesis on the Tuesday night replay.
